This will fit all Sprinter Van Wheel base lengths except the 118″ Wheel Base (the Spare Tire would need moved)
How big is the receiver tube opening?
It is 2″ x 2″.
How do I put this on my van?
We are told the hitch is bolt on which means that you do not need to weld it to your frame.
Stupid question here, but does it include the hardware I need to install it?
Yes. The hitch comes with the hardware you need to install it on your vehicle.
This Hitch will fit all Sprinter Van Wheel base lengths except the 118″ Wheel Base (the Spare Tire would need moved)
Does that include the instructions? I do not want to have to search the internet or hours to find something that will tell me how to do it if I do not have to.
The hitch comes with instructions which should save you time. You should not have to find instructions unless you feel like you need extra help in understanding certain parts of the installation.
What is the rating of this hitch again?
It is a class 3 hitch.
What is the maximum tongue weight I can load?
Curt says that it can handle up to 600 lbs.
Ok, I really want to buy USA made products. Where was this thing made?
The Curt class 3 hitch you are looking at was produced in the United States.
I hate bad products, how do I know this is a quality product?
The product is welded by a very precise robotic welding machine. It is as close to perfect as you, feasibly, could get when buying an item.
What shape is the tube frame?
The hitch is a square tube frame.
How common is this hitch, really?
Curt tells us that this is the most common trailer hitch being used on full-size pickup trucks, SUVs, and vans alike.
Is there anything else I should know about this item?
It is custom designed to fit very specific years of Freightliners and Sprinters, 2500 or 3500 respectively. It is highly recommended that you check the compatibility of your vehicle with the Curt application guide. Right-click here to save the application guide to your computer, phone, or tablet. You can also click the link to read it on your device.
Do I have to use a trailer? Can I use a hitch-mounted accessory instead?
Sure. You can use a cargo carrier, a bike rack, you can even give yourself a ball mount if you so desire.
I’ve heard that you can use a weight distribution hitch is that true?
Yes. You can use a WD hitch.
What would that do for me though?
It increases the class 3’s weight capacity to 10,000 lbs instead of 6,000 lbs.
Does it do anything for tongue weight capacity?
Yes. It increases from 600 lbs to 1000 lbs.
Seems awesome. Does it have a warranty?
It actually has two. Curt supplies a limited lifetime warranty and a one-year warranty covering the finish of the product.
Is there something special about the finish?
It has two coatings. The first is a liquid Bonderite coating and the second is a powder coat that is a high-gloss black color.
It sounds special, what does the finish do?
They guard against scratches, rust, and other wear and tear events.
