The coolant level sensor is the electronic sensor that is responsible for measuring the level of coolant in your engine.
What are some signs of a bad or failing coolant level sensor? I need to know if I should replace mine or not.
The following are signs of a bad or failing coolant level sensor:
- Coolant light stays on – this could be due to a short in your coolant level sensor
- Low coolant – if you have low coolant and your coolant light never came on, this is a sure-fire sign that your coolant level sensor is failing.
- Engine overheating
If you are experiencing any of the above symptoms then it is likely time to replace your coolant level sensor.
