2007-2018 Tail Light Brake Lamp Frame for Mercedes Sprinter

I love the look of these things and I want to get them on as quickly as possible. My Sprinter is dirty though. I notice that some of the pictures look like they have an adhesive backing. Is that going to be a problem if I install the item then wash it?
Actually, a great question. The manufacturer says that you should not wash your vehicle for 24 hours after installing this item. You should wash it first and wait for everything to dry or you should install it and wait 24 hours before washing it.

If it takes 24 hours to set should I check it after some amount of time to make sure that it is setting up correctly?
It is not a bad idea to check how well the adhesive is taking after two hours. It should not be loose and feel like it is firmly in place.

So... The adhesive needs 24 hours then? I can't drive it right away?
The manufacturer says that the adhesive is fully ready to stick and will keep your frame on your Sprinter after 24 hours. You could drive it but you risk loosening the adhesive it and potentially having the item fall off your vehicle.

Hmmm. This is more involved than I thought. Is there a certain temperature I should be adhering to then for this adhesive to work properly?
Correct, there is a temperature they recommend and that temperature is between 65 and 95 degrees. They also recommend using a hair-dryer to install this product if your ambient temperature is below 64 degrees Fahrenheit.

What else should I know about this product?
The manufacturer recommends that you try to install it and make sure that it fits your Sprinter correctly. You want to make sure that it will fit the way you want it to fit before trying to use the adhesive. Once you are sure it fits and that it is what you want on your vehicle then you can begin using the adhesive.

I should clean the area before applying the adhesive, right?
Yes. You want the area totally clean before using the adhesive.

Does it include stuff to clean it?
As far as we can tell the answer is no. You will need some kind of rubbing alcohol.

How long do I need to wait after cleaning it with alcohol?
You should wait at least 5 minutes before trying to install the frame with the adhesive.
