Organizing a Ford Transit

Good storage in a van starts with places to tie down, then adds bins and cabinets on top. Most builds use some of each.

L-track: the backbone

L-track is the most popular thing on this page. Mount a run of track to the wall, floor or ceiling, then clip studs, hooks and straps into it wherever you need them. We carry:

  • Track: Tec Vanlife flanged/recessed, square surface mount and rounded surface mount L-track, plus No Worries MFG custom L-track with mounting holes.
  • Studs and fittings: Van Essential Venture spring-loaded studs with hooks and adjustable studs with stainless rings in 4 and 10 packs, Amazing Auto threaded stud fittings, and Tec Vanlife fittings.
  • Finishing parts: Tec Vanlife back framing and aluminum end caps, Van Essential recessed end caps and an RB Components helmet and gear hook.

Recessed track sits flush with a wall panel, and surface mount track goes on top, so decide on track before you finish your walls.

Cabinets and rear door panels

Van Essential makes upper storage cabinets in 36" and 48" lengths, and Transit rear door storage panels in upper, middle and lower pairs. The White Top Adventures DIY Pull Out Tray 60" turns the back of the van into slide-out storage.

Bags, pouches and baskets

Yes. L-track is not van-specific. What matters is what you bolt it into, so plan mounting points in the wall structure or floor before you install.
