Ford Transit Battery Systems
Ford Transit battery systems and solar for powering a camper build: Renogy lithium batteries, solar panels, charge controllers and DC-DC chargers, Artek flexible panels, and EcoFlow power stations and kits. None of it is model-specific, so the work is sizing the system to how you use power.
Building a Transit Power System
A van power system has four jobs: store energy, charge from the alternator while you drive, charge from the sun when parked, and turn it into the power your gear uses. You can build that from parts or start with an all-in-one kit.
Build it from components (Renogy)
- Batteries: 12V 100Ah lithium iron phosphate with self-heating, plus PRO 100Ah and 200Ah versions with Bluetooth.
- Alternator charging: 40-amp DC-to-DC chargers (one with built-in MPPT) and the REGO 60-amp DC-DC charger.
- Solar charge controllers: the 40-amp Rover Li and 60-amp Rover MPPT, and the REGO 60A MPPT.
- Inverter and monitoring: a 2000-watt pure sine wave inverter, a 500A battery monitor with shunt and monitoring screens.
- Solar panels and wiring: 100W and 200W rigid panels, a 200W flexible panel, tilt mount brackets and MC4 connectors.
Flexible panels (Artek)
Artek Energy offers the Artek 210W Flexible Solar Panel, the Xantrex Solar Max Flex Panel and rocker mount solar feet. Flexible panels sit low on the roof.
All-in-one (EcoFlow)
EcoFlow kits range from the RIVER 2 Pro power station and 1 kWh DELTA 2 Kit up to the 2 kWh DELTA 2 MAX, 3.6 kWh DELTA Pro and the 5 kVA Power Kit Gen 2. They take less wiring than a component system.
Plan panel space with your Ford Transit roof rack, and see Ford Transit lighting for what you'll run.
FAQs
How big a battery do I need?
Add up what you'll run each day (fridge, fan, lights, devices) and how many days you want between charges. Size the battery to that, then size solar and alternator charging to refill it.
Components or an EcoFlow kit?
Components cost less per amp-hour and can be laid out however you like. A kit is faster to install. Both work.
Do you carry battery systems for other vans?
Yes. See Sprinter battery systems and Ram ProMaster battery systems.
