Ram ProMaster Camper Build
The parts that turn a ProMaster cargo van into a camper: windows, insulation, window covers, bug screens, beds, cabinets and water systems. Start with the shell, then build the living space inside it.
Building Out a Ram ProMaster
Most conversions follow the same order: cut in windows and vents, insulate, then build the bed, cabinets and plumbing. Getting that order right saves you from pulling panels back out later.
- Windows: AM Auto OE-style fixed and sliding glass by position and wheelbase, plus universal acrylic windows and install adhesive.
- Insulation: Tec Vanlife Duck Liner and a 3M Thinsulate kit made for the ProMaster.
- Window covers: Van Essential covers for the windshield, front doors, sliding door and rear doors.
- Insect screens: door bug screens, screened cab vents and sliding windows with built-in screens.
- Bed systems: the Cabbunk Large Twin and the Tec Vanlife expandable elevator bed.
- Cabinets: soft cabinets plus base, wall and upper cabinets from RB Components and Van Wife Components.
- Water systems: wheel well tanks, sinks, pumps and showers.
Once the build is in, plan your ProMaster power and lighting.
FAQs
Will these parts fit my ProMaster?
Windows and some screens are made for a specific position, wheelbase (118", 136", 159" or 159" EXT) or roof height, so read each title. Cabinets and many water parts are sized by their own dimensions instead, so measure your floor plan. Send us your VIN if you want us to check a window.
What should I install first?
Windows and roof vents go in before insulation, and insulation goes in before walls, cabinets and the bed.
