Choosing a Transit Awning

The Fiamma F45S is our best-selling awning, with more than 300 sold. It mounts along the side of the van and rolls out to shade the sliding door and the ground beside it. How it mounts depends on your roof and whether you run a rack, so check the product page for the brackets your Transit needs.

Crank handles

A manual awning needs a crank. Fiamma's F45s handle comes in short, telescopic, standard and motor versions, and there's a separate F80s crank handle. Pick a length you can reach from the ground, or go telescopic if you're not sure.

Lighting

The F45S Awning Lead Bar LED Light Kit puts light along the front edge of the awning, and the LED Awning Case/Rafter adds light under the canopy. Both make the awning useful after dark.

Camp setup

• Aluminum wall brackets: hold the awning legs against the side of the van when you don't want them on the ground.
• Fiamma Mat: an outdoor mat for under the awning.

Plan the roof and side together
