Ford Transit Bed Systems

Choosing a Ford Transit Bed

The bed is the biggest thing in most builds, so decide on it before cabinets or plumbing. Ask yourself: does the bed stay put, or does it need to move out of the way for gear or seating?

What we carry

• Cab bunk: the Cabbunk Large Twin is the best seller in this category by a wide margin. It puts a sleeping spot in the cab area instead of the cargo area.
• Panel bed frames: the Tec Vanlife Panel Bed Frame System, also sold with a bed board, for a fixed platform bed.
• Elevator bed: the Tec Vanlife Camper Van Expandable Elevator Bed raises and lowers, so the space under it can serve as a garage or living area.
• Futon: the Camp-N-Car Frontier Futon, made for Sprinter and Transit, is a seat by day and a bed by night.
• Transit-specific: the GoCode Ford Transit Innie Sleeper Pair and a Van Wife Components bed system.

Measure first

Measure the inside width at bed height, the length you want, and the headroom left above the mattress. Roof height matters here: a high roof leaves far more room for a raised bed and a garage underneath.

Plan around it

Once the bed is set, lay out Ford Transit cabinets and water systems in the space that's left.
