Ford Transit 148" EL Van Flares with Windows | 2014+, Slider, Awning or Arctic Tern

A window set into a flare gives the bed corner of a Ford Transit 148" EL daylight and a cross-breeze without giving up the sideways sleeping width the flare was bought for. Each flare is a molded fiberglass bump-out that takes the place of a rear quarter panel section, and on this listing it comes with its window included.

Window Choices for the Transit 148" EL

• Delivered unpainted: the flare arrives in primer-gray gel coat with the window shipped alongside it. Flarespace does not paint flares, because a code-matched color still drifts from the van itself, so your body shop color-matches the flare to the actual paint.
• Flarespace 1033 Half Slider: a 10" x 33" sliding window with its bug screen already installed. Offered on driver and passenger sides.
• Flarespace 1033 Awning: real glass rather than acrylic, hinged to push out about 10 degrees. On the EL it can go on either side.
• Arctic Tern Flat Window: a dual-pane acrylic unit, 300 by 700 mm, with dark tint and a flush outer face, propping open at 10 or 35 degrees behind push-button latches. Driver side only; the blind and screen are separate.

Pairing Sides and Adding Trim Rings

Every combination here has a window on at least one side. The other side can match it, be a solid flare, or be left off entirely.

• One window, one solid: a common layout that puts light over the bed and keeps the far wall dark and quiet.
• Bed length: windows sit inset into the flare, so count on about an inch less bed at window level for each one. Below the window you keep the full width.
• Covers: a window is louder than insulated fiberglass and needs a cover for privacy at night. Covers are sold separately.
• Trim rings: optional fiberglass rings, one per flare, that dress the inside edge where the flare meets your wall panels. Hardware is not included.

EL Window Flare Installation and Fitment

Book a body shop. It sands, primes and paints the gel coat, cuts the EL quarter panel on the stamped factory window line and bonds the flare in with the Flarespace adhesive and instructions. The one-year limited warranty from Flarespace applies only to professional installs, and because flares are built to order, schedule the shop before ordering.
