On a regular-length Ford Transit 148", the cargo area is just a little too narrow for most people to sleep across it. Flarespace flares solve that by replacing a section of each rear quarter panel with a molded fiberglass pod that bulges outward, and Flarespace says the added room allows up to 78 inches of sideways sleeping space, depending on your interior finish. Configure Flares for Your Ford Transit 148"
Choose a flare for the driver side and the passenger side separately, or set one side to none if you only want a single flare. Each flare measures roughly 27.5" by 63" across its outside edges.
- Comes unpainted: flares are shipped in primer-gray gel coat, not color-matched. Flarespace does not offer painting because a paint code by itself is not an exact match, so your body shop blends the color to your own van.
- Solid flare: a flare without any opening, best for a dark, quiet sleeping area once insulated.
- Trim rings: molded fiberglass trim that frames each flare from the inside and fills the step between the flare and your wall panels. Mounting hardware is not supplied.
Solid or Windowed Transit 148" Flares
Every flare on this page is solid, with no window opening. That suits a bedroom you want dark and quiet: the insulated fiberglass keeps out light and sound, you lose no bed length to an inset window, and there are no window covers to add.

Installation and Fitment
Plan on a body shop for installation. The shop sands, primes and paints the gel coat, then cuts the quarter panel along the van's stamped window opening and bonds each flare in place using the adhesive and written instructions Flarespace supplies. Flarespace backs its flares with a one-year limited warranty only when they are professionally installed, and since every flare is made to order, it is worth booking that shop first.
Built for Ford Transit 250, 350 and 350HD vans from model year 2014 onward on the regular-length 148" wheelbase, in low, medium or high roof, RWD or AWD, with single or dual rear wheels. For the extended-length 148" EL, Flarespace makes a separate set of flares.
