A dead battery at a trailhead or an empty job site doesn't have to mean waiting for a tow. Lokithor's jump starters clip straight onto the van's battery and start it without a second vehicle. They're built on lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) cells, a chemistry that's far more stable than ordinary lithium packs, so they're a safer thing to leave in a hot cab.

Pick a Model

  • J1350 PRO: 1350 peak amps for gas engines up to 6.5L and diesels up to 3.5L. The smallest of the three, at about 1.4 lb, with a 30W USB-C port that charges it in about an hour and doubles as a phone or tablet charger.
  • J2250 PRO: 2250 peak amps for gas up to 8.0L and diesel up to 6.0L, which covers the diesel vans most of our customers drive. A 51.2Wh pack with 60W USB-C in and out.
  • JTC4250: 4250 peak amps (2000A starting), plus a 12V battery tester you read over Bluetooth in Lokithor's app and a smart charger that handles both lead-acid and LiFePO4 batteries, 6V or 12V. One box to jump, check and charge the van's battery.

Features

  • LiFePO4 cells: Lokithor rates the J1350 PRO and J2250 PRO for 2,000+ full charge cycles.
  • ConnectMax: the pack checks the connection between the clamps and the battery terminals to get the most out of each jump.
  • Protected against mistakes: the PRO models list 10 protections, including reversed clamps, sparks, short circuits, overcharging and over-temperature.
  • Built-in LED light for roadside work after dark, with SOS and strobe modes on the PRO models.
  • IP65 water and dust resistance on the J1350 PRO and J2250 PRO, and they work from -4°F to 140°F.
  • Holds a charge for a long time in storage: up to 24 months for the J1350 PRO and 36 months for the J2250 PRO, per Lokithor.

Which Size Do I Need?

Match the pack to the engine. The 3.0L V6 diesel in a Sprinter and the 3.0L or 3.2L diesel in a ProMaster or Transit are covered by the J2250 PRO with room to spare, and so is any gas van engine. The J1350 PRO is rated for diesels up to 3.5L, which leaves little margin on a cold morning, so we'd keep it for gas vans and smaller vehicles. The JTC4250 is the pick if you also want to test and charge the battery.

What's in the Box

The jump starter, clamp cable, USB charging cables, a storage bag and the manual. The JTC4250 adds a power cable for its charger.

FAQs

Can it charge my phone?

The J1350 PRO and J2250 PRO can: both have USB-C and USB-A outputs, so the pack doubles as a power bank for phones and tablets.

How often should I charge it?

Top it up every few months and after each jump. LiFePO4 holds its charge well, but a full pack is the one that starts the van.

Will it start a diesel Sprinter?

Yes. The J2250 PRO is rated for diesels up to 6.0L, well past the Sprinter's 3.0L V6 and its smaller 4-cylinder diesels, and the JTC4250 has even more power.
