Ford Transit Camper Build
Ford Transit camper build parts for turning a cargo van into a place to sleep, cook and wash: windows, insulation, headliner shelves, beds, cabinets, water systems, bug screens and window covers.
Building Out a Ford Transit
Most builds follow the same order: cut in windows and vents first, then insulate, then close up the walls and ceiling, then put in the bed, cabinets and plumbing. Working in that order means you aren't cutting holes through finished panels.
- Windows: OE-style sliding and fixed glass, universal slider vents, adhesive and primer.
- Insect screens: bug screens for the front, sliding and rear doors, plus vent inserts.
- Insulation: Duck Liner, 3M Thinsulate kits and insulating curtains.
- Wall panels & headliners: headliner shelves and curtain rods for mid and high roof vans.
- Window covers: stealth and reflective covers for every window and door.
- Bed systems: panel bed frames, an elevator bed, a futon and a cab bunk.
- Cabinets: soft cabinets, base and wall cabinets, drawer units and appliance cabinets.
- Water systems: wheel well and undercarriage tanks, sinks, showers, pumps and fittings.
FAQs
Will these parts fit my Transit?
Some do and some are universal. Glass, headliner shelves and covers are built for a roof height or wheelbase, so read the title. Cabinets and many water parts are sized by inches instead, so measure your space. Unsure? Send us your VIN and we'll check.
Where should I start?
Start with windows and vents, since they mean cutting the body. Insulation comes next, before any wall panels go up.
